Why Does a Phone Overheat?

Practically speaking, the temperature of your phone is based on the temperature of the environment that you are in. There are a lot of things that can happen whenever your phone starts to heat up. It can easily drain your battery and even force your gadget to shut down. There are also instances in which a heated phone won’t restart again after it was shut down if the temperature is still high.

Aside from the temperature of your environment, the apps that you usually use on your mobile phone are the cause of overheating. Just like when you use the app Facetime for a longer period of time, your phone battery gets too worked up, and the temperature rises.

Switch To Wi-Fi From Mobile Data

  • When you Facetime, of course, your camera is all in use in addition to the Wi-Fi streaming and the speakers on a high volume. If this happens, it’s best to turn to some remedies before you experience trouble on your phone.
  • You can start by switching from mobile data to Wi-Fi. Most of the time, when you are using mobile data, your phone gets heated up more often. Compare the difference between using mobile data and Wi-Fi.

Keep Your Phone Away From The Sun

  • Just like what’s mentioned above, the temperature in your environment affects the temperature of your mobile phone. Therefore, if you are Facetiming, you also need to ensure that you are away from direct sunlight which can influence the temperature of your phone. Although it’s really fun to do video calling outdoors, doing so might cause overheating issues that you may not like.

Lower The Brightness

  • Facetiming is perfect for mobile phones that have bigger screens, just like the ones available on newer phones. However, the bigger the screen, the more battery is consumed. As much as possible, lower the brightness of your phone especially if you are inside your home or office. Unused apps that are running in the background not just drain your battery but also contribute to higher temperature on mobile phones. So, when you are face timing, make sure that you close other apps on your phone.

Why does the iPhone Get Hot on FaceTime?

Most of the time, when you use FaceTime on your iPhone for a long period of time, your gadget starts to heat. You can stay inside a cool area while Facetiming to avoid this.

Why does my phone get hot when I video call?

Video calling consumes too much of your battery especially if it is on mobile data. Therefore, to lessen the chances of overheating, you may use a Wi-Fi connection and stay in a well-ventilated place, away from the sunlight.

What happens if you stay on FaceTime all night while charging?

When your phone’s battery gets damaged, your phone starts to drain very fast. This is so annoying especially if you are outside and need to use your phone all the time. Therefore, protecting your battery is necessary. If you are Facetiming all night, it already consumes a lot of battery, and temperature rise will most likely happen. If you are also charging while Facetiming the whole night, it’s a sure recipe for disaster. You may not experience defects right there and then but the battery life will start to decrease and you will be able to use your phone for a shorter period of time. As much as possible, use only your phone after fully charging it. This will ensure that the right amount of power is supplied to your phone’s battery.
