Purchasing a phone cover for your new phone is part of the tech-care 101. Whether you’re clumsy or cautious, obtaining a phone cover will keep your phone safe from accidental falls. But as time goes by, you will start to notice that the transparent cover that you have starts to turn yellow. It will look like the ones found on Tupperware boxes after your mom packed some yellowish food. Your transparent phone cover is used to provide protection while still showing the beauty of your phone.

Why transparent phone protection cases become yellowish

Transparent phone covers are durable, flexible, and inexpensive because they are made of silicone. However, despite its advantages, its made drawback is its ability to easily change color as time goes by.

Items that are made of silicone change color more easily when they are exposed to heat or chemicals. So, when you see that your phone cover turned yellow, it is a clear indication that the material is starting to degrade.

Another reason for your phone case changing color is because of the ultraviolet radiation from the sun. You may usually use your phone when you are outside and this has caused discoloration. Additionally, the friction produced during constant use may also contribute to the change in color of your phone. As you use your phone, sweat and oil cause oxidation which then turns your cellphone case yellow. Fortunately, this yellowing won’t affect the overall protection that your phone case can offer to your phone.

You may want to throw away your yellowish phone cover now. After all, nothing is worse than seeing your once beautiful clear phone case turn into something unattractive and yellowish. But before you decide to throw it away, try out these simple tricks to clean your case and avoid unnecessary expenses.
